After a steller year of competition, Brazillian Nicole Pacelli was crowned the first ever Women's Stand Up World Tour Champion at the La Torche Pro in France last weekend.
The event was her final hurdle in her campaign, and after getting knocked out in the quarter finals she was forced to sweat out the final stages of competition. This is a milestone for the SUP community and a great achievement for a great competitor.
Vavina Walsh (Starboard) placed third in the event, pushing her up to the number two spot overall, also capping off a great year for the young star. Izzy Gomez (Starboard) won the La Torche Pro in trying conditions, making it two-for-two after an amazing win at the Turtle Bay Women's Pro.
"The FCS JW-1 is my favorite fin because it's really loose on small days, but also gives me confidence when the waves are bigger. I've surfed 6 foot hollow waves and it worked perfect there. The thruster setup has a smaller back fin, which allows for a quick tail release if you push that tiny bit extra."
