The film - which you can view below - follows the three riders as they embark on a journey away from civilization in search of a wave that has been mystified and fanatically spoken about for decades.

IT WAS A CUSTOM BUILT EXPERIENCE WITH EQUIPMENT AND SKILLSET IN OUR FAVOUR, AND IT WAS THIS THAT SCRIPTED THE EXPERIENCE. BIKES BUILT IN THE WORKSHOP AND PAINTED PARALLEL TO THE BOARDS BEING SHAPED. ALONG THE ROADS AND ABOARD BOATS, WE'D RIDE THROUGH FIELDS TO SURF THE PASSES OF REEFS AND BEACHES.

THE NOTORIOUS JUNGLE MISSIONS, WITH BARE MINIMUM SUPPLIES WERE RUNNING THROUGH OUR MINDS. MOTORBIKES MADE A LOT OF LOCATIONS DISCOVERABLE, SO WE RODE IN HOMAGE TO ENCOUNTER THE VILLAGES AND PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY.

IT WASN’T PERFECTION WE WERE LOOKING FOR, JUST CONTINUING TO SEARCH. TO ACKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND PRESERVE A CONTINUATION OF EXPLORATION AND MAPPING, SURFING AND SHAPING, WRITING AND READING, STORIES THAT ARE PASSED DOWN THROUGH GENERATIONS WERE ONCE VISUALISED, NOW WE’D EXPERIENCE A PART OF THAT FIRST HAND.

Designing practical equipment that looks chic and works is the shared essence of Deus and FCS, so a collaboration between two brands concerned with combatting friction in style made perfect sense. The ethos of the collaboration was to take the things we use everyday in the surf and make them better - in design, style and function. And the result is everything you need in a set of fins, trunks, surf tee and surf hat, and absolutely nothing you don’t.
