The annual FCS Shaper Awards serve to recognise the core of surfing’s rich history and culture, celebrating legendary and iconic shapers for their significant contribution to the craft of shaping, surfboard building and manufacturing.

After giving you the chance to vote for your favourite shaper via our social channels we’ve left the final decision to an independent judging panel comprised of Rabbit Bartholomew, Tom Carroll and Brad Gerlach. They will pick three category finalists from the list of nominees, and from these finalists, the inaugural Legend and Icon Shaper will be decided.

Collectively, we as surfers are the beneficiaries of the years of dedication and craftsmanship that shapers put into each and every board they make. With that in mind, its only right that we celebrate shapers for giving us the ability to express ourselves on the waves we ride. This is essentially the reason we created the FCS Shaper Awards.
Once decided, the Legend and Icon Award recipients will shape two identical boards that best represents their design & shaping philosophy.
Mick Fanning will surf one board from each shaper, the other board will be auctioned off for charity.
